Updating BPS, BES 4.1 & 5.0 Licensing / Cals

To enter the production CAL in BPS, complete the following steps:

  1. Open BlackBerry Manager.
  2. In the left pane, click BlackBerry Domain.
  3. From the Global tab, click Account.
  4. Click License Management.
  5. Type the production CAL.
  6. Click Add License.
  7. Click Close.

For BlackBerry Enterprise Server version 4.1:

1. Open BlackBerry Manager.
2. Click BlackBerry Domain.
3. On the Global tab, expand the Account section and then click License Management.
4. Specify the new CAL authentication key and then click Add License.


For BlackBerry Enterprise Server version 5.0:

To enter new CALs in BlackBerry Enterprise Server version 5.0, complete the following steps:

  1. Open the BlackBerry Administration Service.
  2. On the Servers and components menu, expand BlackBerry Solution topology > BlackBerry Domain > Component view.
  3. Click BlackBerry Administration Service.
  4. Scroll down to bottom of right hand pane and Click Edit component.
  5. Scroll down and enter new licence key in the licence key box
  6. Click on the green/blue plus sign to the right which is add
  7. Scroll down and click Save All - THIS IS IMPORTANT otherwise it does not add it

    • Salesforce Chatter Coming to BlackBerry By Year End
      Salesforce recently announced Chatter Mobile - a free smartphone app that will bring CRM and social networking together for BlackBerry by year-end. The app is a mobile version of Salesforce's Chatter collaboration service launched back in June, and will allow users to follow feeds related to sales opportunities, top accounts, service issues, reports, metrics, bosses, colleagues, projects, groups and more. Chatter Mobile is likely going to be a success considering around 20,000 Salesforce customers alreaady use the desktop version of Chatter.
    • MasterCard Launches MoneySend Service for BlackBerry
      MasterCard has launched a free money transfer service app in App World that lets US citizens transfer money from person-to-person from their BlackBerry. The app works by allowing the user to send or request money via their BlackBerry through participating banks and credit unions or when they create a virtual prepaid account through Bancorp Bank. Users can then link their existing debit or credit cards or bank checking account to the new virtual prepaid account and begin sending money via their BlackBerry. The designated account funds the MoneySend transaction, and users can manage and trigger the exchanges through the app.
